If You Don't Rest, You'll Pay For It
One super important thing I’ve learned as a VP:
If you don’t rest, you and your team pay for it.
In rushed decisions, impossible pace and constant pressure.
And by rest I don’t mean taking your festive holidays. Or New Year resolutions to go to the gym.
I mean getting up in the morning and not immediately opening your laptop.
Maybe going outside to feed the birds instead.
Maybe getting out for a 30-minute walk during the day.
Or doing some yoga.
Or padding meetings with micro-breaks.
All the tiny things that keep you nourished, rather than quietly burning out.
I stopped posting because I needed to.
I needed to be more intentional about what I was letting into my inner world.
And if you need permission to stop, whatever that thing is for you, take it.
Because the cost of ramming meetings together, or pushing late into the night to churn out content, is far higher than saying “no”.
The cost is you.
Come talk to me about it on LinkedIn
